Our Customer Service & Returns Policy
Beds4u pride themselves on the level of customer service they offer. They know the products inside out & only range merchandise from suppliers that meet a strict quality standard.
Bed & Mattress manufacturing is one of the few remaining industries where a high level of hand skilled workmanship is used. Within the mattress manufacturing process, various types of fillings are used, from man made fibres to traditional fillings such as wool & cotton, & modern day technology in the form of memory foam. latex & complex spring systems. A new mattress will need time to settle down, this is known as 'the settlement period'. During this time the mattress may show signs of flattening where you sleep or a soft ridge down the centre between couples. This is quite normal, & caused by the body weight pushing trapped air out of the fillings. A slight change in your sleeping position, regular rotation & turning (if applicable) will assist the general appearance & settlement of the mattress & its surface.
If part of your item is damaged on arrival please sign it as damaged on the couriers form and contact us immediately Tel : 0191 4147293.
If you do not discover any damage until you start to unpack the goods, don’t worry, just phone us and explain which part is damaged or missing. We will then get that part to you as quick as possible and collect the damaged section.
In all cases of reported damaged, we will request that you take a few photographs showing the extent of the damage, these will be forwarded to the supplier to assist your complaint to be processed as quick as possible. Please email these to email@example.com.
All our Metal, Wooden, Leather or Faux Leather Bedsteads & Bedroom Furniture carry a standard 12-month guarantee.
All our Beds & Mattresses carry a standard 12-month guarantee plus an additional warranty period of upto & in several case extend beyond 5 years. In the unlikely event that a problem should arise due to either faulty material or poor workmanship, during the first year from date of purchase we will repair or replace any part, or all of the product that is defective, completely free of charge.
During the second & subsequent years, a sliding scale of charges on usage plus transport costs comes into effect as follows :
Year 2 to 3 – 40% of the current internet price plus £65.00 transport costs
Year 3 to 4 – 60% of the current internet price plus £65.00 transport costs
Year 4 to 5 – 80% of the current internet price plus £65.00 transport costs
In the event of the goods that you purchased becoming discontinued, or the specification being changed, the nearest option will be offered.
Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive, which can be found at www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2000/2334/contents/made
If for any reason you wish to return the goods, please note that you have seven working days in which to report this to us. The following conditions apply:
The goods are returned to us at a charge of £85.00 to the consumer, this is to recover part/all of the delivery cost.
Any additional delivery surcharge costs will also be charged back to the consumer.
The consumer must arrange their own carrier to return the item, and pay that carrier directly. Retain possession and taking good care of the goods until that carrier collects.
The goods are returned in the original packaging, which must be un-opened.
The items have not been part or fully assembled.
You will be responsible for any damage incurred whilst in transit to our store.
Damage found on items returned to us, will be reflected in the amount of refund offered.
This returns policy excludes special order items such as made to measure mattresses; such items will not be subject to cancelation or return.
Your preferred carrier’s collections are normally on an all-day service between 8.30am - 5.30pm. We will not accept delivery’s after 4.00pm Mon to Fri or on a Saturday or Sunday.
Please note if you want to return an item at the point of delivery for any reason for example does not fit, you will still incur the return fee of £85.00.
Once the item has been returned to us in good condition, the consumer will be refunded less the £85.00 recovery fee within 14 days.
However, this cancellation right does not apply in the Following cases:
In the case of mattresses, bedding and bed linen, if the packaging has been un-sealed, for reasons of health and hygiene these items by their Nature cannot be returned unless faulty. Please note that we cannot accept a return or cancellation once a mattress has been slept on.
In the case of mattresses and divan beds, If Assembly service forms part of your order and the hygiene seal is broken and mattress bag removed we will not be able to accept return unless the goods are faulty,
