Relyon began as a Somerset wool merchant before developing its own wool-filled mattresses. The quality of those early mattresses inspired the Relyon name itself – beds customers could genuinely “rely on” for a comfortable night’s sleep.

Handmade in Somerset

Relyon still manufactures its beds in Wellington, Somerset, where traditional bed-making skills have been passed down through generations. The company also produces its own springs on site and operates its own wood mill, giving it greater control over how its beds are constructed.

Natural Materials and Pocket Springs

Natural comfort remains central to the Relyon range. Depending on the collection, mattresses use materials such as wool, cashmere, silk and natural latex, combined with individually responsive pocket springs to provide tailored support.

Traditional Craftsmanship

Higher-end Relyon mattresses use techniques such as hand nesting and hand centre tying, with pocket springs enclosed in natural calico and arranged to respond independently to different body shapes and weights.
