Is Your Bed Preventing You From Getting a Good Night’s Sleep?

Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

There is nothing worse that getting a bad night’s sleep, but if it happens too often it could be that your own bed is to blame. Here are a few reasons why your bed could be the cause of your restless nights.

Sometimes we all have restless nights where we just cannot seem to get comfortable and fall asleep no matter what we do.

This might be due to stress, the food we eat, injuries, stiff joints, watching too much TV before bed, and a whole host of other things.

However, if you regularly experience nights of discomfort, there is a possibility that your bed could be to blame. Here are a few reasons why your bed may be causing you problems.

Too Old

Even if you buy one of the top brands of mattress such as a Silentnight mattress, you should know that mattresses don’t last forever.

The better models may last for many years, but if you have had your bed for a decade or longer then it may be time to invest in a new model if you are not enjoying comfortable nights of sleep any longer.

The reason for this is because the springs can start to weaken over time, and this could mean that you are simply not getting the support you once used to.

Unexpected Problems

In general, cheaper mattresses are more likely to break and have problems than the more well-known brands like Sealy mattresses.

However, even mattresses from the best brands can have problems from time to time. Whether you have a top quality Miracoil mattress or another cheaper type of bed, if you are simply not managing to get the support you need then it could be that there is a problem with the bed and it may be worth getting it checked out.

Worn Materials

It does not only have to be a problem with the mattress springs which can cause you problems when you sleep. Even the best beds, like Silentnight mattresses and other similar brands, which use the best materials available, can become worn over time, and this can affect how you sleep.

Many of the best mattresses are designed with comfort in mind, but over time the materials can become worn and the comfort levels can start to decline. Check over your bed to see what condition the mattress is in, and if you find that it has started to become too worn then it may be time to make an investment in another bed.

Enjoy Greater Comfort from Your Bed

If you are experiencing regular nights of discomfort, it could be due to a number of reasons. However, it may be that your bed is to blame, in which case it might be time to invest in a new bed to ensure that you can get back to comfortable nights of sleep once again.

The Silentnight Mattress

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

The Silentnight mattress is well known in television ads in the UK for the two unlikely sleeping partners, a hippopotamus and a small fluffy yellow duckling. The idea is, presumably, used to demonstrate that a big difference in weight does not make a big difference in sleeping comfort when two “people” share the same Silentnight mattress. The adverts were extremely successful, and you can still see the two unlikely bedfellows on the Silentnight mattress web site today, where they continue to be synonymous with sleeping comfort.

The Silentnight mattress offers two different levels of sprung mattress systems for your comfort: the Miracoil mattress system, and the PocketZing mattress system. The Miracoil system uses one continuous spring coil of wire. The springs run lengthwise, head to foot, along the mattress. This provides an even distribution of weight throughout the bed, regardless of individual weight, as in the hippopotamus and the little duck. It ensures a high level of sleeping comfort that is hard to beat.

The PocketZing mattress system also used in Silentnight mattresses. This system is arguably better at contouring the sleeping body, surrounding it in a warm envelope of sheer comfort, regardless of how you choose to lie, instantly changing to whatever changed direction or position you turn to. These mattresses have pocket sprung zones for protecting and supporting the back, as well as all of your body, though with varying degrees of support, depending on where it is most required.

Silentnight mattresses can also have a pro-biotic treatment as an integral part of the mattress. This is where so-called friendly bacteria is introduced into the fabric of the mattress to help reduce mould and moisture. This will keep down on all kinds of allergens that can cause misery to the bed user. It will also significantly reduce the presence of dust mites that can cause asthma, or skin eruptions, depending on an individual’s level of resistance to the microscopic creatures that share most beds in the world.

The Silentnight mattress is a very well known one for sleeping comfort in the UK. It provides pressure relief through body-moulding and contouring, spreading the body weight over the length and breadth of the mattress, regardless of an individual’s weight. This helps to allow two people sleeping together to feel as if they each have their own personal mattress, thereby significantly adding to individual comfort levels. The Silentnight mattress is at the leading edge of mattress comfort technology.
